- Complying with applicable legal, regulatory (e.g. FSMA, DSHEA, CFR21), customer and certification requirements
- Operating in a safe and hygienic manner through prerequisite programs, GMPs, HACCP based controls, and regulatory compliance
- Applying risk-based thinking to identify, evaluate, and control food safety and quality risks
- Establishing and reviewing food safety and quality objectives to drive continual improvement
- Providing appropriate resources, training, and support so employees understand their responsibilities
- Promoting a strong culture of food safety and quality with shared accountability
- Maintaining effective internal and external communication on food safety, quality, legality, and product requirements
- Evaluating FSQMS effectiveness through monitoring, audits, corrective actions, and management review
